Job Description :

• We are seeking a Bioinformatics Co-Op who is a creative problem solver, resourceful and innovative. As a Co-Op, you have a phenomenal opportunity to explore practical applications of bioinformatics methods in understanding the basis of disease, from revealing biological pathways involved in pathogenesis and intervention by targeting various integrin across diseases.

Skills :

• Required
  • knowledge of Python/R and experience working in a Linux environment.
  • Basic understanding of genetics and molecular biology, some exposure to cancer biology and immunology.
• Desired
  • Experience with Illumina NGS data analysis and standard tools especially related to transcriptomic profiling. Knowledge of version control and cloud computing.

Job Description :

Help discover new ways to use drugs to regulate the expression of disease-associated genes using techniques including:

• NGS/Genomic data processing and quality assurance 
• Integrating multiple types of omics data 
• Building and optimizing predictive models of gene expression using machine learning methods 

Skills:

• Graduate student, or undergraduate senior with strong experience
• Proficient programming skills in R, Python, or Shell scripting  
• Bioinformatic background with course/work in machine learning, or computer science/machine learning background with course/work in biology and bioinformatics.
